Here is a brief about myself and about the Bangla Calener Website. Read and learn about the author, the history of making this website and the struggles around it.
About Myself and the Idea
Hi, I am Swarup Mondal, an inhabitant of West Bengal, India. I have created this website for my mother who is very religious. At the same time, she is very forgetful. I have to buy Bangla Ponjika at least twice every year. But after a few months, Ponjika becomes unavailable in the local market. So I thought of making a digital calendar cum Ponjika where she can get all her quarries regarding upcoming events like Ekadoshi or Protipad. As the calendars, though some are in Bangla, in our house do not contain all the exact details she wants, she searched for the Ponjika and didn't find it.
Searching for a good Bangla Calendar
So I want a digital Ponjika and calendar in Bangla Hindu Custom. But after searching the web and showing all the calendars available on the web, none of them satisfied her queries. Some are using English Fonts and some are too elaborative. Moreover, options for choosing a digital Bangla Calendar with Ponjika are limited across the web.
Executing the website
Then the idea of creating a custom Bangla Calendar comes to my mind. I know about creating a website and how to run it on the web. It took me three months in planning and executing the Calendar.
I forgot the exact date, but on a rainy night, I searched for a suitable name for my website. I want to make it simple and easy to remember. Then I decided to name it Bangla Calendar. But there is no matching domain with it. Unwillingly I chose, Bangla Calender.
I know it is incorrect in English. The exact spelling is C-A-L-E-N-D-A-R but I ignore it as I am making this website in Bangla Language.
Have you noticed it previously?
I have limited knowledge of coding. So I keep it mostly non-coding. So that I can maintain it easily.
That's all about myself and my website. Have I missed anything? Please write in the comment section below. I will surely think about it.
